Disneyland - July 7 Day 18

The Donald philosophy of Disney - When at Disney, do Disney. Do not spend time on anything else, just do Disney until collapsing from fatigue, then do Disney some more.

We kept to this in Walt Disney World in years past and we applied it wholeheartedly at Disneyland. We were not deterred from the fatigue of driving across the country, we went right at it. We arrived at Disneyland at 8:45 AM and stayed until
11:30 PM. We had one day tickets to Disneyland and California Adventure and we attempted to do it all.

In Disneyland we started in a part of the park we had never been to at Walt Disney World - Tomorrowland. We rode Buzz Lightyear , Star Tours and watched Honey I Shrunk the Audience.. Jerry, Blair and Molly rode Space Mountain twice and the Matterhorn Bobsleds while Beverly and Brooke rode the  Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. We went around the whole park, visiting     the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Winnie the Pooh, It's a Small World, and the
Pirates of the Caribbean, Winnie the Pooh, It's a Small Disneyland Railroad. Later in the day we went over to Disney's California Adventure, where Beverly and Brooke did Monsters, Inc. bumper cars, and some Bugs Life stuff while Jerry, Blair and Brooke did the Tower of Terror. We
all saw Muppets 3D, Soarin' Over California. We saw most of the Electric Parade, then crossed back to Disneyland to see the fireworks. The fireworks were over around 10:00, but the park didn't close until midnight. So we thought that after the fireworks, we could ride a few of the rides without
having lines to wait in. We were wrong. After the fireworks we rode Star Tours again, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan, waiting in line for 40 minutes for the last two rides. We were surprised how busy it was even though it was so late. When they stopped allowing people to get in the lines for rides we felt we had gotten our money's worth and walked back to the hotel. Total driving distance for the day - zero. We walked everyplace.

  1. that post exhausted me. I need a nap now. You all missed Stacey and her brood at Disneyland by a few days, I think. They did D-land for 2 days and then flew to WDW for several days. That, my friends, is too much Disney.

  2. I can't imagine. I enjoy Disney, but doing two like that together would be crazy! We have gone once every 3 years since Blair was 5, and that has been nice. I was surprised how much Brooke didn't remember from earlier trips. So it's nice she got to experience Mickey's and Minnie's house and Muppets 3-D.

  3. Actually, we did Disneyland for 5 nights that trip and WDW for 10 nights!

  4. But then, I have no claim on sanity, especially where Disney is involved!
